New Moon

The New Moon is the time of beginnings. It is the period of

controlled energies and growth. This is a particularly powerful

time for Divination. It is a time of personal growth and healing.

Since the rising energy of the moon charges and amplifies

the energy placed in the spell, the three days after the New Moon

are the most powerful times to perform spells for growth and

beginnings, which should be realized at the Full Moon.

New Moon Magick (New Moon to 3 1/2 days after)
 Timing: Between Dawn and Sunset

The night of the New Moon, when the Moon is totally dark,

is an extremely magickal and potent time. It is a time of

'between the worlds'.

 

Waxing Crescent Moon

This is a good time for constructive magick. This is magick for

increase. The Waxing Moon is associated with the Maiden, so

align associations with this aspect of the Goddess.

The period of the 7th day to 14th day after the New Moon are the

most powerful times for fruition and completion.

 

First Quarter Moon

Waxing Gibbous Moon

Full Moon

 

The Full Moon is a time for work that requires great force. The

Full Moon can be conjured for 7 days to 3 days prior, the night

of the Full Moon, and the 3 days following. Sometimes the effects

of conjuring done on the Full Moon take one full lunar cycle to

take hold, and come to completion. At this time, the other planes

can be influenced. The subconscious spheres of influence are

at their most active and receptive as well. The Full Moon

symbolizes the Mother aspect of the Goddess.

 

Full Moon ( 14th to 17 1/2 days after the New Moon)

Full Moon magick should be performed just before the exact

time of the Full Moon. The 14th to 17 1/2 days are excellent days

for spellwork, prophecy, protection, and divination. Any spell that

requires extra power can be performed at this time.

 

Waning Moon

This is a good time for destructive magick. This is magick that

concerns endings of such things as bad habits, ways of life,

harassment, negative emotions. This is the time for banishment

and rejection of things that we no longer wish to have around us.

The Waning Moon represents the Crone aspect of the Goddess.

Dark Moon

 

The Dark of the Moon occurs over the 3 days before the New Moon.

At this time, the moon cannot be seen at all. No magick should be

performed at this time. Meditations and vision questing may be

performed at this time, but not for specific purposes.

This is an excellent time for introspection and exploring the dark

and hidden recesses of our emotions, and trying to understand

our anger, jealousy, dependency and addictions.Hecate rules

this time of the cycle. If you will require her assistance, this is

the time to request it.

Working Magick by Moon Phase


New Moon: New moon workings can be done from the day of the new moon to three and a half days after. The new moon is for starting new ventures, new beginnings. Also love and romance, health or job hunting.

Waxing Moon: From seven to fourteen days after the new moon. The waxing moon is for constructive magick, such as love, wealth, success, courage, friendship, luck or health.

Full Moon: From fourteen to seventeen and a half days after the new moon. Prime time for rituals for prophecy, protection, divination. Any working that needs extra power, such as help finding a new job or healings for serious conditions, can be done now. Also, love, knowledge, legal undertakings, money and dreams.

Waning Moon: From three and a half to ten and a half days after the full moon. The waning moon is used for banishing magick, for ridding oneself of addictions, illness or negativity.

Dark Moon: From ten and a half to fourteen days after the full moon. The dark moon is a time for dealing with attackers, for exploring our darkest recesses and understanding our angers and passions. Also bringing justice to bear.
